Grand Moustapha, we liked to call you. You were a good man, an authentic Serer very attached to your native Sine, a telegraphic intellectual and had your convictions. You were a « bagne kat ». The announcement of your death saddened us all. You carried the FONSA project in your heart and always told us « FONSA is a jewel ». We have lost a great man, your children a valiant father. We still remember your beautiful words, your greatness of spirit. Your exceptional qualities will remain a permanent source of inspiration for the FONSA family. Who to contact in the event of the death of a FONSA member?
The Social Commission or the FONSA representatives in the « Bundesländer » can be contacted to report the death of a FONSA member.
What is the procedure for repatriating the body of a deceased member to Germany?
The first step is the identification of the deceased by the social commission. Then comes the administrative procedure. Once the member is formally identified, the Fonsa Executive Board meets to decide what to do in accordance with the wishes of the deceased (repatriation of the body if it was the wish of the deceased and/or the family. If it was the wish of the deceased to be buried in Germany, FONSA will provide the necessary assistance to the family.)
